Prof. Dr. Henry Markram is the Director of the Human Brain Project ( previously Blue Brain Project), which he founded in 2005. He began his research career in South Africa in the early 1980s, later moving to Israel and then to the EPFL, where he founded the Brain Mind Institute in 2002.
Since the start of his career, he has focused on neural microcircuitry, applying a broad range of anatomical, physiological, biophysical and molecular techniques, and pioneering the multi-neuron patch-clamp approach. His best-known discoveries are the principles of Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity (STDP), Redistribution of Synaptic Efficacy (RSE), and Long-Term Microcircuit Plasticity (LTMP). He has worked with theoreticians to develop the concept of "liquid computing", a novel technique for handling real time continuous input to recurrent neural networks. He has also been active in autism research, a field in which he has co-developed the "Intense World Theory of Autism”. He is currently working on the design of the Human Brain Project – the successor to the Blue Brain Project.

Beat D. Wyser is an online marketing expert who specializes in Search Engine Optimization , social media and marketing trends . After completing his studies at the University of St. Gallen , he worked as an e- business consultant for different companies in his work and got to know many new technologies.
In 1998, he started his own consulting company through which he was responsible in the last few years, for different online projects of Swiss Post, like www.swisspost.ch/counter. As of 1 April 2017 Uwe Serdült is working as a full professor at Ritsumeikan University, Japan, in the College of Information Science and Engineering while keeping some projects as a principle investigator at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), University of Zurich, Switzerland. In this dual position he teaches and conducts interdisciplinary research in several domains of e-society. Within digital democracy he is especially interested in internet based platforms and tools for citizens (e-participation) as well as public administrations (e-government) in order to enhance transparency and deliberation in an information society.

Tom started his career in digital business at eBay/Paypal in 2005. During his almost 10-year journey with the American group, he was responsible for the entire Home & Garden business for eBay from London for 3 years. During this period, he led the European service strategy for eBay and developed and scaled Europe's largest new car portal for mobile.de with his team.
He then built the marketplace for Europe's largest furniture e-tailer home24 before turning his attention to completely new digital business models. This started in 2015 in Switzerland with siroop.ch, where as employee #2 he helped build Switzerland's largest marketplace in a short time. After integrating into the Coop Group, Tom founded two more startups, one of which involved the successful development of a digital business model for one of Europe's largest event agencies.
His expertise focuses on: Developing digital business models to disrupt industries, deriving and coordinating innovation and growth initiatives, pricing, customer centricity, marketplaces, and building a customer-centric and innovation-driven organization. Tom recently joined our team with his expertise and is driving internationalization with a focus on Germany.
Tom did his Masters in Marketing & Retail from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and later completed his Doctorate in Pricing from Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
